Mr. Krishna Prakash, IPS – A Journey of Grit, Glory, and Greatness
Mr. Krishna Prakash, IPS, has etched his name in history by completing the internationally renowned and grueling Ironman Triathlon, held on 27th August 2017 in Vichy, France – The Queen of Spa Towns. With an outstanding performance of 14 hours, 8 minutes, and 23 seconds, he achieved what few can even dream of.
His incredible accomplishment added a golden feather to the glory of the Indian Civil Services, as he became the first-ever Indian Civil Servant, Indian Government Servant, Indian Police Service Officer, and Serving Uniformed Services Officer to complete the Ironman Triathlon. This achievement stands as a true reflection of his discipline, endurance, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Police Medal for Meritorious Service – Awarded on the occasion of Independence Day, 2014.
Director General’s Insignia – In recognition of commendable services.
Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award – For outstanding work in promoting communal harmony at Malegaon.
Rajiv Gandhi Prashaskiya Gatimanta Award – For exemplary administrative work in Sangli.
The “Buldhana Pattern” of action against clandestine vehicle operations introduced by him was officially approved for implementation across Maharashtra by the State Transport Department.
Received an Appreciation Certificate and a ₹7 Lakh reward for the Police Welfare Fund from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra for his impactful work against illegal vehicle operations in Amravati District.
Mahatma Gandhi Special Peace Prize – For making the highest number of villages dispute-free in Sangli (2008–2009) and again in Ahmednagar (2010–2011).
Joined as an IPS Probationer in 1998 at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.
Completed his Foundation Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
Served Army attachment at Bakhryan Post, Doda District (J&K) and CPMF attachment with CRPF, Dimapur (Nagaland).
Successfully completed over 30 Half and Full Marathons.
Declared Overall Runner-Up in Swimming, Cross Country, and Yoga during his training at SVPNPA, Hyderabad.
Voted for the Spirit de Corps Award at the LBSNAA, Mussoorie, recognizing his leadership and camaraderie.
Winner of several Walkathons and Pistol Shooting titles organized annually for senior police officers of Maharashtra.
Podium Finisher in both the First Monsoon Marathon (10K) and Stone Ridge Valley Marathon (21K).
